| La Margherita was created on the land of the current partners' grandfather. 30 years ago the company produced peaches and grapes in its orchards and vineyards. It had the typical appearance of farms at that time, with livestock, poultry and everything necessary for the family. In 1970 the company passed on to the son Gino Scarpa. That same year the first hothouses were built in Italy. Gino Scarpa with his great business skills and determination changed the direction of agricultural thinking allowing the company to become one of the most famous and specialized in the area in just ten years. As is tradition, the three children, Cinzia, Raffaele and Luca work alongside their father, with the essential help and fighting spirit of their mother, Bruna. Their contribution has brought radical changes to the company, bringing it up to pace with modern times, refining production techniques and increasingly specializing in a variety of crops. The “La Margherita” company was founded in 1992. The challenge still continues in 2000, aimed primarily at the quality and wholesomeness of products, obtained by using an integrated pest management system and the most modern irrigation and fertilizing systems. |
